How do we resist the devil? How do we fight temptations and sin in the right way? The devil is definitely not going to run away because of us alone. We resist him by submitting to God and having a relationship with Him. This relationship is not defined only in the moments when we are in trouble, and we face temptation. We need to depend on God in each moment and feed ourselves with the word of God. Prayer needs to be constant in our life, and we do that because we want to be closer to God and to know Him. This is not only when we need Him in a particular situation.
When we maintain this kind of relationship, we will also find a solution when we are in trouble, have some need, or face temptation. In this way, we can resist the devil, and he will flee from us. He won’t flee because he is scared of us, but because is scared of the One living in us.
