We all know about the release of the Epstein Files, and it's at the center of the news today, but do you think there might be more to this happening?
When people lose faith and trust in governments and institutions, they hope to see someone more loyal and capable of keeping promises. From a Christian perspective, we know that this is Christ and the kingdom He will establish one day. Still, during these times, due to some church leaders' failures and the delusions some people have experienced, they have also lost their faith. The Bible tells us to fix our eyes on Jesus, yet this feels so far from our society at times.
These and other reasons could prepare the way for the Antichrist. Why? Because during times of such uncertainty, people are willing to believe in someone who seems to keep his promises and serve as an example to others. That is how he will appear, as an almost perfect man. This is how he will "apparently" be, as we know that his desire will be different than that. I am not suggesting when he will appear; we don't know that, but we can consider what is happening right now as a pattern for how things could unfold when he appears.
Even though it is difficult to admit, we people always need someone to lead us. This is how we are made. Even if we constantly seek independence and rebel, we always look up to someone. People who rebel against authorities often admire the leader guiding their rebellion. We are just made that way. That's why we need to set our eyes on Jesus and be led by Him, the one who is the perfect authority and who makes us whole. Today we need to look up to Him, and also when the Antichrist appears, we need to choose to depend on the right person - on Jesus.
